Ed Edd N Eddy Eat the Sun Again
Heed bending, isn't it? note "Careful, Ed, y'all don't know where that's been." "Oh, information technology'due south right here, Double-D!"
One of the more famous episodes, purely on how foreign and off-the-wall the story becomes, even in the context of the evidence.
In this Bizarro Episode, Ed appears in Boil's bedchamber late at night request random questions nigh everything he sees, bothering Eddy all nighttime long. In the morning they go to Double-D's house to discover him disassembling an antique radio in order to empathise how it works. Eddy then gets an idea: if they knew how everything worked, they'd exist famous and get rich.
After taking apart a washing machine and Rolf's chicken coop (with Double-D taking notes all the while), things start to get weirder and weirder as the three begin taking autonomously space-time itself.
Until they accidentally break the universe.
Information technology proceeds to become even stranger from that betoken on.
This episode has many examples, Ed-boy!
- All Only a Dream: The catastrophe implies that the Eds disassembling space-time was just their imagination. None of the other kids seem to remember the universe getting destroyed, as they just await at the Eds like they're crazy.
- Even amend, given how said "disassembling" started at Rolf'southward subcontract, with Ed grabbing a tree only for information technology to go flat, the implication is that they had actually tuned out in the middle of Rolf's story about "the Ugly Male child and the Tree of Heads".
- All Men Are Perverts: The scene where Ed reveals the Kanker sisters bathing demonstrates this much nearly Eddy.
Eddy: (Giggling) Did ya see annihilation?
- Borrowed Catchphrase: Sarah borrows Kevin's "Dorks!" besides doubling as Finishing Each Other's Sentences.
Kevin: (sees the Eds scrambling to collect Edd'due south notes on the reality warp) What are you doing?
The Eds: Uhhh.... nix?
Kevin: Right. Except for being—
Sarah: Dorks?!
Kevin: (happily) Yeah. - Past the Lights of Their Optics: Afterward a random scene transition, the Eds are stuck in a black void with only their optics and mouths visible. The void is then revealed to be inside Kevin's right eyeball.
- Broken Tape: "Hello, light. Hello, low-cal. Hullo, low-cal. Hello, light. Hello, light..."
- Comically Missing the Point: Eddy points out garages are for cars when he sees Ed's stuffed garage, Ed thanks him.
- Deconstruction: On the way cartoons (or at least the bear witness'southward own drawing reality) work; as the Eds' tampering with reality ends with them breaking the universe by pure mistake.
- Farthermost Omnivore:
- At the beginning of the episode, Ed actually eats Eddy's lava lamp. Please note that this was before the Eds started dismantling reality.
- Eddy takes this Up to Xi past turning mean solar day to dark via taking a bite out of the Lord's day like a cookie.
- Floating Platforms: At the strangest signal in the episode, the world has been reduced to loads of floating houses, platforms, and other random things.
- Hypocrite: Eddy is very annoyed of Ed showing up unannounced in his room in his bed in the offset of the episode, even so a few scenes later, he does the exact aforementioned matter to Double D by sneaking up backside him in HIS room unannounced, something even Double D himself said he hated.
- I'm Melting!: Jimmy after Boil removes his outline. With no outline, the paint the animators use to color Jimmy turns into a puddle. Later Sarah comes back with Jimmy in a large pitcher.
Jimmy: Don't spill me!
- Incredibly Lame Pun
- Kicks off the entire episode: Ed appears in Eddy'due south bedroom late one night to ask "How can my anxiety smell if they don't have a nose?"
- Subsequently on Eddy says they'll be rich, Ed asks "Like tater salad?"
- Malaproper: Afterward bumping into the sun, Boil shrugs and says "Well, if you' can't beat 'em, swallow 'em!" before taking a seize with teeth out of it like a behemothic potato fleck, turning it into a crescent moon.
- Mind Screw: Where to even beginning?
- Things start to go wrong when Ed makes a tree equally thin as cardboard while all the same maintaining its weight. The Eds are now deconstructing the building blocks and shortcuts of traditional animation, eventually moving on to dismantling space-fourth dimension.
- Reality completely falls apart the moment Edd notices a hovering cow in the sky. What's left of the universe now resembles a surrealist painting.
- Things soon get much worse. Jonny's head and Plank switch places and the two decide to go camping with a bunch of household objects, Nazz has the body of a regal alligator, and Rolf gets three heads.
- Multiple Caput Case: Rolf in the wrecked universe.
Rolf's Outset head: "Many doors, yes?"
Second Head: "Likewise much for-"
Third Head: "-Couch Potato Ed-boys like yourselves!" - No 4th Wall: While the testify is already pretty self-referential, this episode sees it literally getting torn down!
- Non Really The All-Of import Question: Inverted:
Edd: I feel we're getting closer to answering that earth-shaking question!
Boil: "Is Eddy rich yet?"
Ed: "Can Ed go to the bath?" - Oh, No... Not Over again!: Rolf got upset when he found Wilfred in Gertrude's muzzle over again.
- Overly Long Gag: Ed opening and shutting Boil'due south refrigerator door. It goes on all night, and poor Eddy is forced to watch the whole thing.
- Perspective Magic: Played with every bit Eddy literally walks into the groundwork and finds the monochrome houses to be very small and his hand goes behind the sun.
- Portable Pigsty
- Ed cuts a hole in the background which reveals the Kankers taking a bath together. The piece of the background Ed cut off drops to the ground to become a hole itself that Ed can pick up like a newspaper.
- Subverted at the end of the episode. When the Eds are running from Sarah, Eddy and Double-D autumn down a manhole. Ed, still thinking the physics are wacky, tries to choice up the manhole, merely to pull out the sewer pipe Eddy and Double-D are stuck in and is forced to run while conveying information technology.
- Selective Gravity: Once the Eds completely mess up the universe, gravity either doesn't piece of work or works however it wants to work. Boil at 1 point pokes out from the top of the screen upside-down to a higher place Edd, simply for the screen to rotate and reveal that they're both suddenly floating and fall down.
- Someone's Touching My Butt: When the Eds notice themselves in the dark (actually Kevin's iris), Ed asks if the others tin can approximate what he'southward doing.
Eddy: Get off my human foot, Ed!
- All of a sudden Shouting: When Boil finds Ed in his bed with him.
Eddy: Ed...? Become OUTTA MY ROOM!!
- Surreal Sense of humor: Full. End.
Edd, pointing to Rolf'southward cow floating in the heaven: "Don't wait now, but there's a moo-cow hovering but overhead."
Moo-cow: (crows like a rooster) - The Thing That Would Not Leave: Ed is this to Eddy when the episode begins because Ed wants Boil to respond all his questions (not taking into consideration the fact that it's the center of the night).
- Toon Physics: This episode is clogged of information technology, moreso than by the show'due south standards. It's subsequently deconstructed since the Eds destroy the universe but by messing with this.
- Trash of the Titans: Ed'due south garage is filled to the top with unused household appliances, furniture, and other junk.
Eddy: Garages are for cars, Ed.
Ed: Why, thank y'all. - Unusually Uninteresting Sight
Eddy: A three-headed Rolf. Yawn.
- Wheel o' Feet: Eddy gets rid of Sarah at one point by producing one of these before jumping out of it, then sticking her in it and forcing her to run away.
- Wipe That Smile Off Your Confront:
Eddy: "Shut your oral fissure, Sarah! Or amend yet, get rid of it!"
